First session
Start here
Artyx is a local-folder-first desktop studio for image and 3D work. The main workspace combines an asset browser, a node canvas, and a chat-and-review panel so the brief, source files, and outputs stay together.
Assets
Keep files visible
Browse generated and imported media, open the workspace folder, or export the whole project from the Assets rail.
Canvas
Build visually
Arrange images and 3D objects, connect supported processing steps, and annotate the board with text, boxes, and arrows.
Chat & Review
Direct and choose
Brief Artyx Agent in Chat, then move to Review to compare deliverables and continue from the strongest result.
Your first workflow
- 01
Install Artyx. Download the macOS or Windows build and sign in.
- 02
Choose a workspace. Create or open the local folder for the project.
- 03
Add a source. Drop an image or 3D model onto the canvas.
- 04
Run one next step. Use Quick Run or brief Artyx Agent.
- 05
Review and export. Select the result, refine it, or open its folder.
Files & structure
Workspace & canvas
A workspace is an ordinary folder with Artyx project metadata under
.artyx. Untitled workspaces save locally, and portable
.artyx packages let you move a project between machines.
Import sources
Drop PNG, JPEG, WebP, or GIF images and OBJ, GLTF, GLB, or FBX models onto the canvas. You can also paste an image directly.
Navigate the board
Pan and zoom, fit the active work into view, undo or redo edits, and hide connections when you need a cleaner review surface.
Organize selections
Arrange selected nodes into a grid, row, or column, or wrap them in a board to keep a direction or delivery batch together.
One selected asset
Quick Run
Quick Run is the fastest way to apply a known operation to the selected canvas asset. It uses the immediate Fast behavior; available actions change with the asset type and your enabled models.
- Generate Variant
- Generate 3D
- Extract View
- Retexture
- Retopologize
- Part Splitter
- Extract Texture Map
- Image Segmentation
Image work
Create and prepare images
Generate up to 4 variations, upscale 2×, remove a background, extract a texture map or orthographic view, and split an image into named parts.
3D work
Build and process models
Generate 3D from an image, run provider-supported multiview jobs, retexture, retopologize, split parts, or remesh an existing model.
Compare & continue
Review & iterate
Review gathers the current thread’s deliverables in one place. Pick a result to inspect its details and versions, show it on the canvas, or begin the next operation without rebuilding the context.
Variations
Explore nearby directions while keeping the selected result as context.
Upscale
Create a larger delivery version when the active model supports it.
Remove background
Prepare a clean cutout for composition, presentation, or handoff.
Make 3D
Use the selected image as the source for a new 3D generation.
Plan & execute
Artyx Agent
Artyx Agent can inspect the active canvas, plan a bounded creative workflow, use image and 3D tools, monitor long-running jobs, and place results back into the project. Give it a deliverable, count, and the constraints that matter.
Default
Ask
The agent pauses before tools that need confirmation. Approvals are tied to the exact action, so a refinement or changed request is reviewed separately.
Optional
Auto
Eligible safe tools run automatically. Use it for a trusted, well-scoped brief; stronger safeguards still apply to destructive actions.
Fast & Custom
Fast chooses a plan-valid text and image setup. Custom exposes the choices currently available in the live model catalog.
Skills, plugins & MCP
Extend the agent with imported Skills, marketplace plugins, and MCP connections over HTTP, SSE, or local stdio.
Background agents
For suitable work, Artyx Agent can delegate bounded subtasks in the background and bring their results back to the parent run.
Models & surfaces
3D workflows
Use an image to generate a model, or start with an existing mesh and develop its look through orthographic prototypes, texture operations, and optional external-editor round trips.
Orthographic redesign
- 01
Extract a side. Choose the view with the clearest design area.
- 02
Prototype in 2D. Generate directions that preserve orientation and silhouette.
- 03
Select one. Review the candidates before committing to a model operation.
- 04
Apply the design. Artyx writes a new derived GLB rather than replacing the source.
Object Editor
Target surface changes
Current editing modes are Remove, Recolor, Wear, and Detail. Paint is not part of the current editor.
External editors
Round-trip specialist work
Choose preferred image and 3D editors in Settings. Artyx supports workflows with Blender, Substance 3D Painter, Photoshop, Affinity Photo, GIMP, and Krita.
Keep moving
Use the live app as the source of truth
Models, provider parameters, supported outputs, and prices can change between releases. Check the model setup and estimate shown before a job, then use the changelog for newly shipped behavior.
