Version v0.5.0

Source-based variants get smarter controls

This release makes derives feel more intentional and easier to steer. You can now generate grounded variants from a source image, lock projection behavior for cleaner ortho and texture-map results, and pick different models for segmentation tasks. It also fixes several workflow issues around drafts, resolution, references, and uploads.

Release highlights

What’s new

  1. Create grounded source variants

You can now start a derive from a source image and get several related versions in parallel. Each result shows its own loading card right away, so it is easier to track what is happening without extra noise.

  2. Lock cleaner projection results

Ortho-view and texture-map derives now have a geometry and projection lock. This helps prevent odd etched text, dark backgrounds, and images spilling outside the frame.

  3. Steer segmentation more directly

Image segmentation now lets you choose separate models for Vision and Image work. That gives you more control over how the cutout is handled.

  4. Fixes for drafts and references

Untitled drafts now appear on the homescreen properly, saved chat history keeps its place when moved into a folder, and image references now follow the intended behavior more reliably.

  5. Generation progress is clearer

Progress updates now move with time instead of feeling static, and the active controls stay locked while a job is running. The empty-canvas starter is also simpler and less intrusive.

In the app

Where to find it

  1. 01

Open a source image node on the canvas and start a source-text derive.

You should see multiple grounded variant cards appear immediately, one for each version being generated.

  2. 02

Open an ortho-view or texture-map derive and look for the new geometry/projection lock option.

Use it when you want cleaner framing and to avoid background spill or etched-looking text.

  3. 03

Open the segmentation controls and choose the Vision and Image dropdowns.

These pickers now let you steer the segmentation setup more directly.

  4. 04

Watch the generation panel while a job runs.

The progress display now updates over time, and the controls stay locked until the run finishes.

  5. 05

Create a new draft and check the homescreen.

Untitled drafts should now show up right away, and saved drafts keep their chat history when moved into a folder.
